1. What the Extension Does
Simple WCAG Contrast Checker helps you check text color contrast on the webpage currently open in Google Chrome against WCAG AA or WCAG AAA contrast requirements.
The extension checks color contrast only. It does not certify full WCAG compliance and does not replace a complete accessibility audit.
2. Information Processed by the Extension
To perform a contrast check, the extension may process information that is available on the current webpage, including:
- Visible text elements.
- Color and style information used to calculate text contrast.
- Element and layout information needed to show issue highlights and the selected-element panel.
This processing occurs locally in your browser for the purpose of running the contrast check.
If a webpage contains personal information inside visible page content, that content may be processed locally as part of the contrast analysis. The extension does not intentionally collect, retain, transmit, or share that page content.
3. Extension Settings Stored Locally
The extension stores limited settings locally in your browser so it can remember your preferences. These settings may include:
- The selected contrast standard, such as WCAG AA or WCAG AAA.
- The panel position and panel size.
- The selected panel transparency level.
- Temporary extension state needed to restore the panel after a page refresh.
These settings are stored in Chrome extension storage on your device. They are not used to identify you personally.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
Simple WCAG Contrast Checker does not require an account, login, payment information, or API key.
The extension does not intentionally collect or store:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or account credentials.
- Passwords, payment information, or form entries.
- Browsing history.

7. Your Choices and Control
You can stop using the extension at any time by removing it from Google Chrome.
To remove the extension:
- Open
chrome://extensionsin Google Chrome. - Find Simple WCAG Contrast Checker.
- Select Remove.
Removing the extension generally removes its locally stored extension settings from your browser. You can also manage extension permissions through the Google Chrome extensions page.
8. Third-Party Websites
The extension can run on webpages that are not operated by HardaWebPro. Those websites may have their own privacy practices and policies.
HardaWebPro is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of third-party websites. This extension does not change the privacy policies of the webpages you visit.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
